I’m skeptical of the results from many of the instruments that claim to measure a person’s personality traits. An article about the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator in The Skeptics Dictionary discusses the theory and limitations of this test.

Rune Røsten, managing director of Nettby, one of Norway’s largest social networks.
Jill Walker Rettberg, who is an associate professor at the University of Bergen and research blogger. Jill has provided a summary of her presentation on her blog, jilltxt.net.

Windows Live Writer update
December 31st, 2007 · 2 Comments
Following up from my previous posting, this application has become my favourite blogging editor after problem-free use since installation. Windows Live Writer 2008 even supports WordPress tags. However, you have to use the Keywords field, not Insert Tags, for them to be stored in the WordPress database.
There are a number of excellent plug-ins available; I’m currently using Text Template and Polaroid Picture, available on Windows Live Gallery.

These applications are so useful! I use them on a memory stick, together with other favourite apps that do not require installation, to avoid having to install the same programs on all of my home/work PCs.

Build a streaming music playlist with Songza
November 18th, 2007 · No Comments
I’ve just come across Songza, which is a website hosting a very cool search engine and music player. It seems to be a mashup for searching music videos on YouTube. Type in the name of a band or song and Sonza provides a short list of matching search results. When you click on a song, you can play it directly by streaming, add it to an easily organized playlist, watch the YouTube video, copy the link or share it via an email or your website.
